Portable values -> domain instances -> visible contributions -> inspectable relationships. This page handles the file a person owns.

Portable values

Values Passport

A Values Passport is a small, nameless file you own. It carries your priorities across Values Commons instances, so every domain can rank options by what you care about without making you create an account.

Passport contract

A values file, not a profile

The passport should carry enough preference to make a ranking yours, but not enough personal data to turn into a surveillance asset.

Minimal

Only values travel

Weights, vetoes, and compatibility hints are enough. Identity, history, and tracking IDs stay out.

Owned

Your file, your copy

Keep it on your device, move it by any channel, duplicate it, edit it, or delete it.

Honest

No fake transfer

An instance applies only the values its domain can express, and should show what did not transfer.

Portable

No account required

The file should work across compatible instances and assemblies without platform lock-in.

Contents

Enough to rank, not enough to identify

The passport carries weights, vetoes, and a version. It should not need a name, email, purchase history, location trail, or social graph.

Where it travels

One values file, many domains

The same priorities can help with buying, learning, messaging, group decisions, and future instances that do not exist yet.

Use this next

Turn a private file into public leverage

The passport becomes powerful when it can move between several surfaces without being captured by any of them.

1 Own

Keep it local

The file can live on a device, drive, or shared folder.

2 Carry

Use many lenses

The same priorities can rank different domains and instances.

3 Merge

Find group stance

Assembly combines passports without erasing disagreement.

4 Act

Publish a slate

Shared decisions can become visible, forkable, and accountable.
